Culture & Heritage Museums’ sites offer free admission for the summer to active-duty military families as a Blue Star Museum and announces new access program for low-income families with Museums for All initiative

ROCK HILL, S.C. – Culture & Heritage Museums sites are participating in Blue Star Museums, a collaboration among the National Endowment for the Arts, Blue Star Families, the Department of Defense, and museums across America. Currently through Labor Day 2021, CHM sites – Historic Brattonsville, Museum of York County and Main Street Children’s Museum offer free admission to the nation’s active-duty military personnel, including the National Guard and Reserves, and their families. For more information, visit Blue Star Museums.

Culture & Heritage Museums’ sites are also participating in Museums for All, an initiative that provides increased accessibility of high-quality museum learning resources for underserved audiences receiving food assistance (SNAP) benefits. The initiative, which runs throughout the year, offers a reduced rate of $3 per person for up to four individuals per party for walkup admission at CHM sites by showing an EBT/SNAP card at check-in. According to museums4all.org, “Museums for All is a signature access program of the Institute of Museum and Library Services administered by the Association of Children’s Museums to encourage people of all backgrounds to visit museums regularly and build lifelong museum-going habits.”

All visitors are encouraged to check the website chmuseums.org   for up-to-date information and varying changes in each site’s operational hours, admission procedures and programs.
