Memorial Day at Historic Brattonsville to focus on Revolutionary War times

Historic Brattonsville offers free admission to active duty military personnel and their families

McCONNELLS, S.C. – Memorial Day is always a meaningful experience at Historic Brattonsville. As a Blue Star Museum, the living history museum joins the national effort to say “thank you!” to our military community by offering free admission to active duty military personnel and their families from Memorial Day through Labor Day.

Historic Brattonsville will be open from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. on Memorial Day. Activities throughout the day include a special focus on Revolutionary War times, honoring those involved in the Battle of Huck’s Defeat, and guided tours of the historic battlefield.

Historically dressed interpreters will demonstrate how folks in the Carolina Backcountry farmed, cooked and played during the colonial period. Pack a picnic lunch and kick-off the summer season on the lush green grounds of the 800-acre living history plantation.

Memorial Day at Historic Brattonsville on May 28, 2018 from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m.
