Saturday, February 9, 2013: 11am – 12noon
McCelvey Center
York, SC – Explore the heritage of the Catawba with guest speaker Travis Blue as he shares information about the language, history, pottery and regalia of the tribe. Travis Blue began presenting programs in 2001 when he was working with the Catawba Cultural Center and has been invited to elementary schools, churches, community centers and retirement communities ever since. Audiences are often surprised to learn that the Catawba are a federally recognized tribe. Travis enjoys educating the public about the indigenous culture and clearing up misconceptions about the tribe.
