Keepers of the Culture Awards Dinner

CHM’s 10th annual Keepers of the Culture Awards Dinner will be held at the Palmetto Room at Historic Old Town on Tuesday, March 25, 2008, at 6 p.m. This special award recognizes individuals who exemplify a commitment to keeping, communicating and connecting the cultural, historical and natural heritage of our region. This year, Strauss Moore Shiple, Ann Spencer and Jim & Judy Udick will be honored.

Former recipients of the Keepers of the Culture Award are Walt Schrader (1999); Steve McCrae, Sr., Louise Pettus and Wayne Patrick (2000); Harry and ‘Becca Dalton, Dr. Bobby Moss and Dori Sanders (2001); Harriet Goode and Jerry West (2002); Nikki Barnes, Dick Houk and Bill Kimbrell (2003); Jeanne Ferguson, Carl Gullick and Earl and Viola Robbins (2004); The Vernon Grant Family and Betty Jo Rhea (2005); Wade Fairey, Vicki Huggins-Cook and Murray White (2006); Bob Doster, Steve McCrae, Jr. and Dr. Bertha Maxwell-Roddey (2007).
