What hours is Main Street Children’s Museum open?

10 a.m.-5 p.m. Tuesday-Saturday, Noon -5 p.m. Sunday; closed Monday.

 

What are admission prices?

$5 for all visitors ages 1 year and older; $3 for CHM members; $3 per person for pre-booked groups of 15 or more; children younger than 1 year admitted free.

 

So you charge for adult admission?

 We believe in the importance of intergenerational family play; all visitors ages 1 year and older pay admission.

 

How long should I expect to spend/what type of experience will my child(ren) have at Main Street Children’s Museum?

 Visitors typically spend an hour to two hours.  The Main Street Children’s Museum believes in the power of creative play – imaginative, fun and unstructured learning.  From dressing up as a pirate and sailing a ship (role play) to hosting a tea party in our child-sized kitchen (imaginative play), children play and learn in a natural and developmentally appropriate fashion. Structured programs augment free play. 

 

Do you offer special programs?

 Yes. We offer a variety of programs for children, families and groups. 

 

Are adults (without children) allowed to visit Main Street Children’s Museum?

For the safety of museum visitors, adults are welcome to enjoy a brief, guided tour of the museum.

 

Where are you located?

 Main Street Children’s Museum is located in Old Town Rock Hill, at 133 E. Main St. We are easily accessible from Fort Mill and Charlotte via I-77 with a 10-minute drive on Dave Lyle Boulevard.

 

Is Main Street Children’s Museum handicap accessible?

Yes.

 

What type of parking is available?

Free parking is available in the City of Rock Hill’s Black Street parking lot and parking garage, on Main Street and behind Main Street Children’s Museum off White
Street.

 

Is Main Street Children’s Museum available for birthday parties?

Birthdays are BIG at the Culture & Heritage Museums!

Birthday party reservations include museum admission for a total of 25 individuals (children and adults) at Main Street Children’s Museum or Historic Brattonsville, or 35 individuals at the Museum of York County.

Parties must be booked two weeks in advance. Full payment required at time of reservation.

Cost is $225; $200 for Culture & Heritage Museums members.
