Join us at our annual event, "By the Sweat of Our Brows" as we honor the legacy of African-Americans who were enslaved at Brattonsville, as well as their descendants, known today as the "Seven Sacred Families."

Activities:

• Descendants of the enslaved at Brattonsville share their stories 
• Reading of enslaved names
• Step inside an original cabin of the enslaved at Brattonsville
• Historic cooking in the brick kitchen and BBQ demo at the field slave cabin
• Cotton ginning
• Gold Hill Baptist Church Choir
• Enslaved toys and games
• US Colored Troops living history interpretation
• Researching family history discussion with Dr. Lisa Bratton
• Portrait painting at the Col. Bratton house
• House tours of the Homestead
• Farm chores
• JD’s Wings and Things food truck
• Kenny Liles Fish Fry and More

ADMISSIONS: Adults, $8; Seniors, (60+) $7; Youth ages 4-17, $5; kids age 3 years and younger, free admission, admission for CHM members is free.
