SPRING BREAK: Cartooning & Comics Camp!
|

Dave McDonald, Teaching Artist, Cartoonist and Author/Illustrator of the Hamster Sam Books will teach campers how to draw cartoon characters, how to write for comics and how to develop their very own characters and stories! Participants will learn the techniques of “penciling” & “inking”, as well as composition and styles of comics. |

Critter Camp

Play games, make crafts, eat silly snacks and have lots of fun while learning about animals that leap, fly, or crawl! This small-group setting is perfect for both first-timers and experienced campers. |

Time Travelers Camp

Travel through time from the pioneer backcountry, to the Revolutionary War, to an 1800s cotton plantation. Learn to cook over an open fire, drill with soldiers, write with a quill pen, play historic games, and much more. |

Pack your bags, and grab your passport - we’re going on safari in Africa! We’ll learn about African animals and their environments, and explore cultural traditions through stories and the arts. Junior Explorers must bring a lunch each day. |

Your child’s imagination will come to life at this camp based on the featured exhibit, Peanuts...Naturally. We’ll learn a variety of nature-themed topics from planets to stars and trees to birds from Charlie Brown and friends. We will also sing, read, eat snacks and create art. |

Roots Music Camp: Harmonica

Charlie Story, Professional Harmonica Player, Teaching Artist, and creator of “Harmonica in Schools” will teach campers the proper way to play simple popular folk songs on the harmonica through a very unique tablature system and through ear training. Campers will also receive their own harmonica and music book and learn songs right away! |

MYCO Art Camp

Inspired by author and illustrator Vernon Grant’s 1934 book Build a Zoo, campers will explore the Museum of York County’s vast collection of animals and specimens to investigate, write and illustrate their own storybook. This interdisciplinary camp allows campers to explore natural history, art and literature. |
